Petra Dürholt
Petra is responsible for organizing the voluntary afternoon activities and is involved in the collaboration between the school and the community.
Ms. Petra Dürholt, who approached and prepared most of the young people to read the short biographies, also spoke with these students afterward about their impressions, as well as with the classes that had the opportunity to speak with the groups of relatives.
The young people expressed that they were impressed by the openness with which the relatives approached them and that the significance of the Stolpersteine only became clear to them after these conversations. Only then did they have ideas for possible questions… at the same time, however, they also admitted that they would probably have been too shy to ask these questions.
The young people who read the short biographies felt it was a special honor! They were noticed by the many adults present, the stories behind the Stolpersteine deeply impressed them, and they were very moved that the relatives had thanked them.
In numerous conversations with teachers and other attendees, it was repeatedly emphasized to me that this was an important event for Sontra. The dignified commemoration was a success, forging a connection between the town's residents and the families of the victims, rather than creating an irreconcilable divide.
It was also mentioned and acknowledged as an important event for the community in the 2026 New Year's reception for the town of Sontra, which included a review of the year 2025.
Frau Petra Dürholt, die die meisten Jugendlichen für das Verlesen der Kurzbiographien angesprochen und vorbereitet hat, hat auch im Nachgang mit diesen Schülerinnen und Schülern über ihre Eindrücke gesprochen und auch mit den Klassen, die mit den Angehörigengruppen sprechen konnten.
Dabei formulierten die Jugendlichen, dass sie die Offenheit beeindruckt habe, mit der die Angehörigen ihnen gegenüber aufgetreten sind und sie erst nach den Gesprächen die Bedeutung deutlich geworden sei. Erst dann hätten sie auch Ideen für mögliche Fragen gehabt ….. gleichzeitig räumten sie allerdings auch ein, dass sie vermutlich zu scheu gewesen wären, diese Fragen auch zu stellen.
Die Jugendlichen, die die Kurzbiographien gelesen haben, empfanden dies als besondere Ehre! Sie wurden von den vielen Erwachsenen wahrgenommen, die Geschichten zu den Stolpersteinen haben sie auch sehr beeindruckt und waren sehr bewegt, dass die Angehörigen sich bei ihnen bedankt haben.
In einer ganzen Reihe von Gesprächen mit Lehrern und anderen Anwesenden wurde mir gegenüber immer wieder deutlich gemacht, dass dies für Sontra eine wichtige Veranstaltung war. Das würdige Erinnern sei gelungen und habe eine Verbindung zwischen den Bürgerinnen und Bürgern der Stadt und den Angehörigen entstehen lassen und kein unversöhnliches Gegenüber!!
Auch im Jahresrückblick auf das Jahr 2025 beim Neujahrsempfang 2026 der Stadt Sontra wurde es als wichtiges Ereignis für die Stadtgesellschaft erwähnt und gewürdigt.
